This course is meant to reinforce and enhance your fundamentals skills in essay writing. During the course of the semester, we will look closely at the various elements of essay writing process including selecting a topic, building your arguments, identifying supporting facts, understanding essay patterns of organization, writing general statements and thesis statement, and constructing introduction paragraph, body of the essay, and conclusion. You will be required to draft, rewrite, expand, correct, complete, and improve your writing. Through frequent in-class writing exercises you will learn to develop your ideas. By the end of this course students will be prepared to craft well-written essays.
